Employment
Employment, for some, is a lifestyle taken for granted. For our
population, employment may be that missing piece for opportunity
of personal growth, economic freedom, and benefit to others.
Whether it is a returning to the workforce, a chance to learn
new skills, or being employed for the first time, employment can
help raise self-esteem and self-confidence whose hopes and dreams
were once dashed upon the rocks. Economic freedom means to some,
not the chance to obtain insurmountable wealth, but just the chance
to earn a few dollars more to spend than what is drawn from the
monthly social security check. Also, there are employers that
know that just because a person has a physical or mental challenge,
that does not mean they are unemployable.
The Life Link staff is available to those who would like assistance
in finding work. Applicants are interviewed and assessed for skills
and interests taking education into consideration.
